Principal and Studio Owner
Dancing since the age of 5, Taryn has lived and breathed all things dance. After training in Perth, at the age of 18 she broadened her horizons and went to dance internationally. This is where she gained immeasurable knowledge of dance at a professional level. After 2 seasons abroad, she was ready to settle in Perth as her dream was always to have a home and raise a family. After marrying her husband, they went on to produce 3 beautiful daughters, all now aged between 5 and 13.
Taryn also spent 3 years working in the travel industry – another big passion of hers. Whilst doing so, Taryn continued teaching dance at another Perth school as well as keeping her training up to date. She then decided whilst studying for her Full Teachers Diploma in Dance, that she would like to have her own dance school as this is where she could see herself for years to come.
“I have been blessed to carry on my love and passion for dance, creating a loving, nurturing, family environment at Centre Stage. My studio is a place where children can make friendships, learn life skills, such as good sportsmanship and team work, all whilst learning to dance. It’s a home away from home for my daughters as well as many of my students. My teachers all adopt a loving approach and stress the importance of balance in a child’s life.”
Centre Stage is heading into it’s 18th year of operation and its reputation for being a family friendly environment is stronger than ever.
Jemma has been a part of Centre Stage for over 15 years, beginning her time here as a student. She has completed her Certificate 3 in Children’s Services and has worked with children both in childcare and dancing for over 10 years. Her biggest passion is working with young children. “I love nurturing them and making them feel special and I believe all students have something positive to bring to every class and should learn to value their qualities”
Jemma is a Mum to a beautiful and very energetic little girl Aria and absolutely loves being a Mum.
Her goal at Centre Stage is to ensure ALL students leave her classes feeling great, positive and loved. “I love pushing the children to be the best they can be and I love listening to their stories and genuinely caring about each and every person that walks into the room including Parents”
Tanaye has been dancing since she was 4 years old, and has been at Centre Stage for over 12 years.
Tanaye has been participating in CSTD exams since she was 6 years old, and has now completed her Full Teachers Diploma in CSTD Modern Jazz.
She is also certified in the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, both module 1 and 2.
“I have been very lucky to have travelled twice to America with our wonderful dance school and performed in some amazing places including Disneyland, Universal Studios and on Hollywood Boulevard!
Her goal at Centre Stage is to spread her love of dance to the next generation, and hope that they too can experience all the amazing things that come with being part of a dance school. “For me Centre stage was so much more than just dancing, it has been a place where I have made lifelong friends, learnt the value of commitment and been free to be who I am all at the same time”
Simone joined Centre Stage in its second year of operation when she was 6 years old, and has now been a part of the school for 16 years, taking on a teaching role in 2013. Her passion for teaching and inspiring children lead her to complete her Bachelor of Primary Education, and is now a Primary School Teacher.
“I love working with children and my students are my priority. I want to set up each child for success and love to see their sense of fulfilment and achievement when they reach their goals. My goal is to give your child the skills and strength they need to believe they can achieve their goals. I want to create an environment in which they feel successful, special and proud of themselves every day”.
Natalie is our specialised Ballet Teacher at Centre Stage. She has been dancing for 24 years, and teaching for more than 14 years, 10 of which have been at Centre Stage. Natalie is very passionate about working with young people. She is currently the Science and Dance teacher at Dianella Secondary College, where she promotes and organises many successful events. Natalie has performed at a large number of events including Telethon, the Christmas Pageant, Corporate floor shows, Disneyland, Universal studios to name a few. When Natalie is not dancing, she loves to bake cakes.
“I am incredibly passionate about the success of EVERY student. I believe each student should be given equal opportunity to develop to their full potential. I encourage students to explore their own individuality and apply that to our art form. I create a class environment which is warm, encouraging and supportive. I endeavour to teach students how to deal with success and failure in dance (and life) and how build resilience and perseverance which become lifelong skills once they leave the studio”.
“My goal at centre stage is to bring the best out in my students, I love seeing students grow as dancers but also within them self. I want students to feel safe and loved and enjoy every class they take, as well as them feeling special and proud every week when they come to dancing and leave happy and satisfied within themselves”.
I started at Centre Stage in 2016 teaching ballet & specialising in Musical Theatre & Singing. I have been dancing since I was 8yrs old training in C.S.T.D jazz and tap and both CSTD and RAD classical ballet syllabus. I completed all of my C.S.T.D classical & jazz examinations. I started singing at the age of 17 and discovered my love for musical theatre & I spent 15years training in classical voice. I have performed in many musicals over the years such as Annie, Oliver, Fiddler on the Roof & The Secret Garden. I have been lucky enough to share the stage with Lucy Durack & Todd McKenney and performed many times on Telethon & in the City of Perth Nativity.
Dancing & Musical Theatre has taught me so many valuable life skills. I absolutely love sharing my knowledge & passion for the arts with my students. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing them shine as their confidence grows in and out of the studio.

At Centre Stage we hold a great importance on ensuring our student teachers are trained in all areas of teaching. Each student teacher is assigned to classes where they hold their most strength.
In 2018 we are commencing a specialised teaching program with “Dance Teacher Central”. This program is designed to help dance schools train their student teachers ensuring that children are given constancy in the dance school from all teachers.
You can feel safe at Centre Stage knowing that all of our Assistant and Student teachers are receiving ongoing training.
